Showing stunning and captivating aromatics, the 1989 Les Cailloux (Lucien et André Brunel) Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Centenaire is packed with garrigue, smoked herbs, dried blood and tobacco aromatics that are wrapped around a deep, fruit driven core. The wine opens up beautifully over the evening, showing superb complexity and loads of ripe fruit. On the palate, it’s full bodied with a smooth, seamless texture, perfect balance, good edge and cut, and a long finish. Lots of life left here and this should continue to drink well over the next 5 to 8 years.
