Terroir
The cuvée takes its name from the countless rolled pebbles present in the vineyards, which also give the Domaine its name. The vineyard consists of multiple plots, each contributing its own characteristics and imparting incredible complexity to this wine: Bois de la Ville and Serres, whose very poor and highly filtering gravel beds allow for optimal water drainage, resulting in a highly concentrated juice; Farguerol and Cansaud, whose red and blue clays provide extreme aromatic richness; and finally Cabrières and Revès, where chalky limestone brings structure and length on the palate. This meticulous analysis of the terroir has enabled us to determine the most suitable grape variety and the most appropriate vineyard management methods (type of ground cover, pruning, plowing frequency, etc.).
Tasting Notes
2023 was an exceptional year, marked by a remarkably long harvest that began as early as August, resulting in a fine, elegant, and expressive wine, true to our terroir.
At first, this vintage reveals aromas of red fruit, licorice, and menthol. On the palate, the ample and silky texture is supported by supple and complex tannins. Its finish lingers with spicy notes, adding depth and salinity to the whole.
