We were faced with a particularly cold springtime this year. According to the French weather forecast, it was the coldest spring since 1987 and one of the rainiest since 1959. In our region, these abundant and frequent rainfalls made the phreatic water level rise significantly, which contributed to quick growth in the vineyards. The cold both delayed and the veraison. Thankfully the summer heat compensated for this strange springtime and harvesting should be on time if all goes well.
