Framboise, wild strawberries, white pepper, and apple spice notes all emerge from the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape, a rich yet elegant Châteauneuf du Pape that does everything right. Medium to full-bodied, silky, and beautifully polished, it has no hard edges and just glides over the palate. This wine is never a blockbuster, but it shines for its incredible elegance and purity. I'd be thrilled to have bottles in the cellar. This classic cuvée is 60% Grenache, 25% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and 5% Cinsault, brought up 90% in concrete tanks and 10% in demi-muids.
