The famed Cuvee Centenaire (produced from 100+ year old vines) was included in the cuvee classique in 1999. Made in an evolved style for proprietor Andre Brunel, the 1999 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a dark plum/ruby color as well as a sweet, spicy nose of red and black fruits mixed with garrigue, pepper, spice box, and tobacco. Rich, full-bodied, layered, and undeniably captivating, this sumptuous, forward, flavorful, savory Chateauneuf can be drunk now and over the next 12-14 years.
