Much more elegant and streamlined than the exuberant 1998 (the 1998 was reviewed in the '98 Chateauneuf du Pape retrospective article), the ruby/orange-rimmed 1995 Chateauneuf du Pape still possesses surprising density and concentration to go with mature notes of cured meats, pepper, dried underbrush, figs and spice. Medium-bodied, nicely textured, evolved and ready to go, it's a classy Chateauneuf du Pape to enjoy over the coming couple of years.
