The 1993 may never reach the level of the sumptuous 1990, but it is equal to Brunel's 1988. The wine reveals an impressive dark ruby/purple color, a fragrant, textbook nose of garrigue, and sweet, black-cherry fruit. Ripe and full-bodied, with an inner core of sweetness and richness, this admirable Chateauneuf du Pape is soft enough to drink now, but it can be cellared for 10-12 years.
