Grape Festival
The veraison is a decisive step for grape ripening, the time when the seed grows and turns from green to red and when the fruit aromas awake. This change usually occurs at the beginning of August for the Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and is a process which last for about two weeks. It coincides with the annual Fête du Village.
Fête du Village
The Véraison Festival in Châteauneuf-du-Pape dates back to Medieval times when the town was, for many years, the summer residence of the Avignon Popes. It’s a time when history and tradition come together. During a weekend, a Medieval and festive mood is created, filling the streets with shows, events and concerts. You can enjoy guided wine-tasting session of the appellation wines and gala evenings which ally fine food and entertainment, making this weekend a spectacular event.
Each year at the beginning of August. You can get more information by contacting the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Tourist Office.
